He spent his childhood in Egypt, Ethiopia, and several states before graduating from high school in Germany. He attended New Mexico Military Institute and earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Texas. He graduated with honors from St. Mary’s University School of Law and began practicing personal injury law in Fort Worth in 1980. Mr. Turner is board-certified in both personal injury trial law and civil trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Fewer than one percent of Texas attorneys hold this double board certification. He is also certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and was elected into membership in the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates. He has been repeatedly voted by Texas attorneys as a Texas Monthly Magazine “Super Lawyer” and a Fort Worth Magazine “Top Attorney.” Mr. Turner is a past president of the Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the College of the State Bar of Texas. He peers have given him Martindale Hubble’s highest rating, “AV Preeminent.” He is also licensed to practice law in Colorado. Mr. Turner has been representing individuals and families in wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases for over 31 years. He has extensive experience handling a wide variety of cases, from trucking, industrial, railroad, construction, and boating accidents to cases involving drowning, electrocution, sexual assault, paralysis, burns, and other serious injuries. He aggressively pursues his cases with all of the experience, litigation support, technology and resources needed to place his clients on an equal footing with the most powerful corporate and insurance adversaries. Mr. Turner gives back to his community and has been actively involved in numerous charitable and civic organizations. He was a recipient of the Tarrant County Bar Associations’ first Outstanding Small Firm Award and West Texas Legal Services’ Small Firm Pro Bono Award for providing pro bono legal services to the poor. Mr. Turner has always been active in animal welfare causes. He is a former president of the Texas Humane Legislation Network and a former vice-president of the Humane Society of North Texas. He currently serves as chair of the Animal Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He represents humane organizations, rescue groups, animal rights activists, and companion animal owners whose animals have been killed or injured by others. He represented the dog owners in Medlen v. Strickland, where the Second Court of Appeals held for the first time that a dog owner whose dog is killed is entitled to sue for the sentimental value of the dog, rather than just the market value. In 2012 Mr. Turner merged his law practice with Bailey & Galyen where he handles wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases all over Texas and the United States. Education:
